Digital camera as a Christmas gift for a 10 year-old girl and 12 year-old boy?

I’m thinking about getting both of my kids a digital camera for Christmas. Do you think 10 and 12 are appropriate ages for a digital camera? And at that age, do you think it would be important to get both the same camera - except different colors?

I’m 15 and i got one last year so i would wait a couple more years

How do I transfer pictures from a kid tough digital camera onto my computer??

I bought my daughter the kid tough digital camera for her birthday and she used up all the memory almost immediatly, so I hooked the camera up to the computer and it says USB Device not recognized… It didn't come with any software, so I'm not sure how to transfer the pictures, any help would be greatly appreciated considering how much she wants to take more pictures.

go to the manufactures website and research

any good children's digital cameras out there?

Can anyone tell me a good experience they've had with a digital camera they bought for a child? All the reviews I read seem to say all digital cameras made for kids are cheaply made, poor quality cameras. Thanks!
It's for my niece. She is under 12 but she cares very well for all of her things and this would probably be supervised by an adult. Her pictures are actually really good and she can use the adult camera well, but it's hard to let her use a $500 camera.

Would help to know the age of such a child, if they are under 12, you'll want a cheap one, as I doubt they would be able to care for it.

Kids Digital Camera?

Ii am trying to get my 5 (almost 6) year old daughter a digital camera for X-mas. Her younger sisters are getting the VTech Kidizoom so I want something a little older that still has good pictures, a good LCD screen (since she'll just snap and look primarily) and can handle some abuse. Oh, and I'm looking for it around $75.

Any help?

Wow. Will she really use it? Seems like a lot of money for a digital camera for a kid. My sony only cost $99, dont know about beating that up though. Walmart has some cute colored ones in the Hannah Montana line or even by their cameras.
Good luck!

Kids Digital Camera - Vtech/Little Tikes or Fisher Price?

Looking to buy my 3 year old daughter a camera for xmas, she has seen the vtech one on the tv, and has asked if father christmas could get her it. What i would like to know is which one is best, I know the picture quality is not great on them, but the tike’s one takes 1000 photos, but the others you need extra memory cards, but i think you can plug them direct into your tv. Which one is best value for money and easy for her to use, and which one is best for downloading photos onto tv or computer. Thank you

I don’t have experience of both the cameras, but Vtech as a brand have been brilliant for my kids; their toys seem to be more or less indestructible; we have a few that we bought for my eldest daughter when she was a baby, that have passed down to my youngest, and my eldest is almost 10 now. Even the fairly “high tech” stuff such as a computer type thing has survived many a fly down the stairs, dunk in the bath etc.

So for pure durability and “childproof-ness”, I would recommend Vtech.

Should I get my 6 yr old a REAL digital camera or the Kids digital camera?

My 6 yr old daughter really wants her own digital camera for Xmass. I have looked into the kids ones, and found that the only acceptable one is the VTech Kidizoom, and even this one has reviews for poor quality photos. This is $50 on sale. I have an opportunity to get her a Real digital camera Canon G3, (used, but in gr8 shape), for the same $50 price. I know this will take Gr8 pics, ones worthy or printing out, or putting on Myspace, or whatever! Obviously I will have to teach her to be careful with it, and Not share it w/friends or her little brother. We have a Sweet Canon camera that my husband and I used, it has been dropped a few times over the years, and aside from a few scratches its held up great. Cant wait to hear all your answers
LoL , no my daughter does NOT have a Myspace. I would put her pics on my Myspace page though, so family can see them

If you can get better for the same price, why not. It'll be a better value in the long run. Some of the "kids" cameras break much easier anyways.

I sure hope your 6 year old doesn't have a MySpace! The minimal age on that is 13!!

Does anyone know anything about the new digital camera for kids sold by Avon?

This is apparently a new product in campaign 24 2007 avon book

This camera includes an MP3 player. Any camera that includes MP3 players is usually just a toy.

They usually have a sensor that is 2MP or less (6MP is the beginning of sensor pixel counts on point and shoot cameras) and no optical zoom. Fine for kids, but adults are a lot more demanding.

Im trying to buy my 8 year nephew a kids digital camera…what are the best ones to buy?

Ive seen the fisher price camera for boys.. but I bought that one for a younger cousin and felt my nephew was too old for the bulky camera..I havent gotten any good reviews about the disney camera phones…Just some insight with this would be helpful..thanks

Carefully check the storage/memory capabilities. DD had received a kids one as a Christmas gift and brought it w/ her on vaction to Disney. Before we coudl download the pictures, we had to replace the batteries. What we didn't know was when the battery power was lost, the pictures got lost with them. So be sure to download before the batteries need replaced, but I think a standard camera with a memory card would be better.
